Come back soon for a tutorial using these jelly rolls (40 2.5″ strips) and 40 white strips!
- 5 Coordinating Fat Quarters (I used 5 shades of blue)
- 1 1/4 yards of Background Fabric (or 5 contrasting yet coordinating Fat Quarters)
Cut four 9 inch squares from each Fat Quarter 20 total
Cut twenty 9 inch squares from your background fabric 0r contrasting fat quarters.
- Place each background square right side together with a print square
open and carefully press to the dark side – you now have exposed biases, so press with care!
Lay out four matching units to create a ‘V’
open up your two units
Trim the excess batting & backing – use your sewing line (seam) as a guide. Line up the quarter-inch mark on your seam and trim away.
Trim the corners to cut the bulk.
Turn you quilt right side out through the 6-8 inch opening and then top stitch about a quarter-inch all the way around, closing the opening as you go, then tie or quilt as disired. I quilted mine by stitching-in-the-ditch. (I’ve misplaced my pictures from these steps but will add them when I can!).
It’s two am (well, almost). Two am just sounds better than one fifteen am. I’ve been working on getting this blog set up off and on all day. I think it’s time to call it a night. But come back soon – I will be posting Sew Quick Quilt tutorials and pictures in the coming days.
